Recipes Collected from Students
Here students will reply with recipes from their family that they feel like sharing with our pen-pals across the ocean! :-)
Recipe From Madame Barker
This is a family recipe called Mississippi Rice: (sorry it's in metric)
1 cup rice
1 cup french onion soup (canned is okay)
1 cup beef consommee (canned okay)
4-8 tablespoons of butter
4-8 minced mushrooms
set oven to 177 degrees Celcius (about 350 F)
Cook in a glass oven-safe dish for 30 minutes covered, 15 minutes uncovered.
Easiest recipe ever!!!! Serve with roast beef, steak, or even pork.
Let me know how you like it! It is called Mississippi Rice because when cooked it is dark like the water in the Mississippi River. . . it is an old Louisiana Recipe from my grandmother's side of the family. :-)
